After the opening remarks, Dr. Dang Viet Dung - Chairman of the Vietnam General Construction Association delivered the opening speech. In 2017, heavy rain in the Central region caused 12 landslides (of which 6 cases in Bac Tra My district, 2 cases in Nam Tra My district in Tra Van commune; 2 cases in Phuoc Son district) caused 29 deaths and many deaths. buried or damaged property.

In 2020, there were 5 landslides recorded in Nam Tra My, Phuoc Son and Bac Tra My areas, killing 30 people and leaving 17 people missing. Damage caused by floods is estimated at more than 11 trillion VND.

1. Cooperate with specialized ministries in formulating specific regulations, standards and regulations for investment in infrastructure works (roads, offices, houses, etc.) that are suitable and safe from natural disasters;
2. Cooperate with provinces in developing and drawing up warning maps of landslides, flash floods, flood maps downstream of reservoirs with appropriate scale, developing risk classification criteria, support localities in making plans to review residential areas and residential areas at risk and develop prevention plans;
3. Support localities in adjusting and integrating the content of prevention, response and remediation of natural disaster consequences into development plannings, plans and strategies of sectors and localities in the direction of multi-objective combination. ; minimize the increase in natural disaster risks, adapt to the characteristics of each region and region, especially areas with high risk of flash floods and landslides;

4. Technical assistance to localities in mapping out floods caused by rain, floods, and inundation in downstream areas of reservoirs in case of emergency flood discharge or dam failure, to serve as a basis for construction plans to ensure safety for people, infrastructure and concentrated economic zones;
5. Cooperate with localities in applying scientific research results published in seminars and forecasting flash floods and landslides in order to be proactive in preventing and effectively responding to various types of natural disasters;
