Vietnam's revolutionary press, starting from Thanh Nien newspaper, was founded on June 21, 1925, and directly directed by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc proud.

70 years ago, on April 21, 1950, in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, in Dinh Hoa ATK area (Thai Nguyen), the Vietnam Newspaper Writers Association was established. Along with the glorious history of the Revolutionary Press of Vietnam, the Vietnam Journalists Association has accompanied the nation for the past seven decades, making many important contributions to the cause of national liberation as well as the cause of national liberation. in the construction and defense of the country.

President Ho Chi Minh - the founder, teacher of the Revolutionary Press of Vietnam, a great journalist, always pays special attention to building a team of journalists. He pointed out: "When it comes to the press, we must first talk about those who work in the press" (Speech at the Second Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, April 16, 1959). Right after the successful August Revolution in 1945, in the midst of many difficulties at the beginning of the independence of Vietnam, under his leadership, our Party directed the establishment of the Vietnam Press Union, after the end of the national revolution. National Resistance War changed to Resistance Press Union.

On April 21, 1950, on the basis of the Press Union of the Resistance War, in the Viet Bac war zone, the Vietnam Newspaper Writers' Association was born, marking a historic milestone in the development of the contingent of journalists. Vietnamese revolutionary newspaper. Thus, after more than 30 years of fighting for freedom of speech and association, since the claim of Nguyen Ai Quoc, he spoke strongly to allied countries at the Versailles conference, France (June 1919). Since then, Vietnamese journalists have officially organized their political, social, and professional careers, gathered under the glorious banner of the Party, and contributed to the entire people's resistance and national construction. bright tomorrow of the nation. Already in 1950, the International Organization of Journalists (OIJ) recognized the Association of Vietnamese Journalists as an official member.

In every stage of the revolution, our Party and State always pay attention to leading, directing and creating conditions for the press to operate and develop, and take care of training and fostering the development of a contingent of revolutionary journalists. . The fact that our Party directed the establishment of the Association of Vietnamese Journalists in the Viet Bac war zone, in the days when the resistance war against the French colonialists was taking place fiercely, established the Association of Patriotic and Democratic Journalists of South Vietnam. Nam (1961) in the southern liberated region, fighting against the brutal US-Diem regime, has shown special interest, attaching importance to the role of the press in general and the organization of the Journalists' Association in particular for the revolution of our people.

At the 2nd Congress (April 16 and 17, 1959), the Vietnam Newspaper Writers Association changed its name to the Vietnam Journalists Association. After the Liberation Day of the South, on July 7, 1976, a conference to unify the two regions' journalist associations was organized and named the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Throughout historical periods, the long-term resistance war for national liberation as well as the construction and defense of the country, generations of revolutionary journalists have constantly strived to follow President Ho's teachings. Ho Chi Minh: "Press officers are also revolutionary soldiers. Pen and paper are their sharp weapons", worthy of being pioneers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party. The press has vividly reflected the reality of the resistance war, national construction, renewal and national development; discovering, encouraging, encouraging the replication of new examples and factors, creating exciting revolutionary action movements in all fields, making great achievements; resolutely fight to defeat all counter-plots of hostile forces; fight against corruption, negativity and social evils; is an important bridge in foreign information, strengthens solidarity, friendship and cooperation with people of other countries, contributing to enhancing the role and position of Vietnam in the world community. The press is also a reliable forum, expressing the legitimate will, feelings and aspirations of the people of all strata, contributing ideas to the Party and State to solve problems posed in the process of building building and developing the country.

Proud of the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Vietnamese revolutionary press, all levels of journalist associations, press agencies and the entire team of journalists deepen the advice. of the beloved Uncle Ho: "The mission of the Association is to make members unite closely and help each other to improve their political and professional qualifications.
