Mr. Nam added that the report on green building trends in 2018 by the US Dodge Data and Analytics Group (Dodge Data & Analytics) gives positive comments on the situation of green building development in Vietnam. These evaluation criteria systems are all recognized by the World Green Building Council with 5 basic criteria: materials, location, interior, water and energy use.

Need to "legalize" green buildings

Green real estate projects are increasingly being preferred by customers and it has also appeared in the real estate market. At the same time, due to the urgent requirements of users, green buildings that are applied according to domestic and foreign quality standards are only applied in works and projects of the private sector or have with foreign investment capital, there are no state-funded projects designed and constructed.

Mr. Do Thanh Tung, Director of the National Institute of Architecture, said that currently green buildings, or green building criteria such as Lotus, Leed, are self-made by investors and organizations.
